Martial close to joining Málaga after Libyan federation rejection
French forward Anthony Martial is in advanced negotiations with Spanish club Málaga, with both parties close to reaching an agreement, according to 'Foot Mercato'.
Anthony Martial had rejected two offers from clubs in the French league, as well as a massive financial offer from the Libyan Football Federation, which was worth €10 million net for two years, plus €5 million in bonuses, preferring to continue his career in Europe.
Malaga are interested in the 30-year-old player to strengthen their attacking line, especially after injuries have hit the team, most notably the injury to Julen Lopetegui. Meanwhile, Martial can play as a striker or a winger.
Martial has previous experience in La Liga, having played for Sevilla on loan from Manchester United during the 2021-2022 season, before later moving to AEK Athens and then Monterrey. He became a free agent after leaving the Mexican club this summer.
