Libyan club Al Ittihad has continued its activity in the transfer market, officially announcing today, Thursday, the signing of Senegalese forward Mamadou Sylla from Al Riyadh. This move is part of their plan to strengthen the squad in preparation for the new football season.

Mamadou Sylla, 32, has extensive experience in European football, having played in La Liga for Girona, Rayo Vallecano, RCD Espanyol Barcelona, and Real Valladolid, as well as in the Belgian league before moving to the Saudi Pro League.

The Senegalese forward had a good season last year with Al Riyadh, scoring 10 goals and providing one assist in the Saudi Pro League. These figures enhance the attacking value he is expected to add to his new team.

Sylla's transfer is part of a series of signings made by the Libyan Premier League, led by Tunisian coach Faouzi Benzarti, where the team has brought in several players, including Moroccan Sofiane Boufal, Tunisian Hamza Ben Abderrahman, Libyan Ali Youssef, Nigerian Onutchi Ogbilo, and Burkinabe Jack Diarra.

Ittihad is preparing to compete in the Libyan Premier League for the 2026-2027 season, where it will begin its journey with a match against Al Shomou, as part of Group B in the first stage, in its quest to present a strong performance during the upcoming season.
