Omar Marmoush Under Barcelona's Radar
Tuesday 31-03-2026
Spanish press reports have highlighted the Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, a Manchester City player, just hours before the anticipated friendly match between the Egyptian national team and its Spanish counterpart, as part of both teams' preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The match is scheduled to take place this Tuesday evening, as part of the final preparations for the global tournament, with both teams aiming to gain the maximum technical benefit before the competitions begin.

The Spanish newspaper 'AS' reported that Marmoush has entered Barcelona's radar during the current period, noting that the Catalan club's scouts will be closely monitoring the player during tonight's match against the Spanish national team.

The report explained that Marmoush is facing difficulty in securing a starting position within Manchester City's lineup, despite his ability to play as a striker and left winger, due to strong competition within the team, especially with the presence of Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.

The newspaper also reviewed the player's career, starting from his appearance with Wadi Degla Club, through his experience in the German league with Wolfsburg and then Eintracht Frankfurt, up to his first call-up to the Egyptian national team under former coach Carlos Queiroz.

The report pointed out that Marmoush has impressed Barcelona officials, especially since he is associated with an agency that also represents one of the Catalan team's players, which enhances his chances of being closely followed in the coming period.
