Rashford Returns to Manchester United After Barcelona's Decision

Wednesday 10-06-2026
Spanish press reports have revealed new developments regarding the future of English star Marcus Rashford, following the end of his loan period with Barcelona this season, coming from Manchester United.

According to journalist Luis Rojo, Barcelona's management has decided not to activate the option to purchase the player permanently, despite a clause allowing them to sign him for 30 million euros, which means his trial with the Catalan team will not continue.

The source clarified that the club has decided not to proceed with a permanent contract for the player, and therefore, the player will return to his original club, Manchester United, after the loan period ends.

This decision comes as part of Barcelona's review of its attacking options in the transfer market, in addition to the club's signing of the English star Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United this summer.

Rashford played 49 matches with Barcelona across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing the same number of assists.
