Amar Dedic mocks incident of being stopped by police for carrying a bow and arrows

Bosnian international Amar Dedic, a player for Newcastle, has humorously commented on being stopped by British police this week after being found carrying a bow and arrows in a public place in Newcastle.

Police detained the player on Wednesday along with a friend in Harlow Hill after reports of two men carrying a bow and arrows near a water reservoir on Military Road. The incident prompted a security alert involving six police cars, including armed units, before the bow and arrows were confiscated. Northumbria Police confirmed that the weapon was, according to initial information, intended for recreational use and that there was no threat to the public, as investigations continue.

Amar Dedic responded humorously by posting a GIF of 'Legolas', the famous archer from the 'Lord of the Rings' film series, in reaction to a Newcastle post celebrating his call-up to the Bosnia-Herzegovina national team for matches against Sweden and Romania. The post garnered over 20,000 likes and nearly 300 comments before the player later deleted it.

Amar Dedic will not face any expected disciplinary action from Newcastle following the incident. Dedic joined Newcastle from SL Benfica last August for £30 million, on a five-year contract, and has so far played 13 matches for the team, providing four assists.
