Andoni Iraola expressed his happiness at Liverpool's victory over Brighton by two goals to nil in the match that took place on Sunday as part of the Premier League, emphasizing the importance of the win given the team's recent run of matches.

Pascal Groß scored an own goal in the 17th minute, before Alexander Isak added the second goal, as Liverpool secured their fourth consecutive win in all competitions, moving up to fourth place in the Premier League table.

Andoni Iraola said: "I am very happy with today's win, and I am also pleased with the last four victories. We faced a strong opponent technically, and the key to the match was a good start. We needed to play with strength and aggression, regain possession, win duels, and exploit attacking transitions. We started the match better, which is why things went differently from previous matches where we conceded the first goal and had to come back."

Regarding Isak, he said: "He is a striker capable of scoring goals when we put him in the right positions and provide him with crosses and good opportunities. It is about our ability to win individual duels, get past opponents, and reach the right areas."

Iraola added that his team improved defensively in the second half, explaining: "We defended in a more cohesive manner and did not give the opponent the same spaces. Brighton relies heavily on crosses, so we need to execute the basics well, such as clearing the ball, blocking shots, cutting crosses, and winning second balls, and our defenders performed well in these aspects."

The coach praised Ronald Araújo's performance, saying: "We all enjoyed watching Ronald fight. He is special in duels, and he was very good defensively. I am happy for him, as I left him out of the squad in the previous two matches because we needed more attacking options, but he continued to work without any problem, and today he delivered a fantastic 90 minutes."

Speaking about the importance of the win, Iraola said: "I don't know if this is our most important victory, but we must appreciate the position we have reached. I also enjoyed the two Champions League matches at our stadium, and today, considering the series of matches the team has played recently, I see it as a very important victory, but I hope we can achieve even better wins in the future."
