Liverpool set priorities for midfield reinforcement
Liverpool are planning to strengthen their midfield in 2027, with Alex Scott of Bournemouth and Lamine Kamara of AS Monaco among their priorities, while Felix Nemecha of Borussia Dortmund is considered a backup option, according to CaughtOffside.
The report indicated that Liverpool have reached out to representatives of Nimisha after following his performances with Dortmund, but "Sky Germany" confirmed that the club is not currently preparing to make an official offer for the German midfielder.
Niemisha has become a key player for Dortmund, who are tied to him with a contract until 2030. He has played 123 official matches for them, scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists. Liverpool's interest in him comes as part of their plans to compensate for Curtis Jones' departure to Inter during the summer without signing a direct replacement.
Scott and Kamara are ahead of Nimisha in the club's considerations, as Fabrizio Romano also pointed out, clarifying that Liverpool are searching for a player capable of participating as a starter right away or developing into a key element for the team in the long term.
Scott's familiarity with manager Andoni Iraola's style from their time together at Bournemouth could play a role in the transfer, but his potential value exceeding £80 million poses a hurdle. Meanwhile, Kamara could be a more cost-effective option, with the ability to develop into a long-term solution in midfield.
According to the report, Niemesha's priorities may change if Liverpool's negotiations for Scott falter due to financial value, or if AS Monaco refuse to negotiate regarding Kamara, but he is not currently at the top of the club's target list.
