Fernandes under pressure as Como clash could put Carrick to the test at Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, faces increasing pressure to regain his usual form ahead of the upcoming clash against Como in the UEFA Champions League, on a night that could hold significant importance for his future with the team, according to the British newspaper "Manchester Evening News."

A report from the newspaper, prepared by journalist Tyrone Marshall, indicated that Fernandes is experiencing a decline in his performance this season, making the upcoming match an important test of the captain's ability to regain his influence and contribute to achieving a positive result during a critical stage of the European competition.

The match holds special significance for the Portuguese player, who spent five years of his professional career in Italy between 2012 and 2017, playing in Serie B and Serie A. However, he has never faced Como, who were active in the lower divisions at that time, except for one season in Serie B that ended with their relegation.

However, Como's situation has changed since then, as they have become a competitor capable of threatening Manchester United's ambitions, who understand the importance of coming away with a positive result. The report warned that a loss could complicate the team's task of securing a direct spot in the Round of 16, potentially forcing them into a qualifying playoff, and it could increase the pressure on the coaching staff, amid discussions about the possibility of a new coach facing a difficult situation.

Bruno Fernandes needs to deliver a strong performance to regain confidence and prove his ability to lead Manchester United in big matches, while fans are waiting to see if the Portuguese captain can turn this match into a new starting point to restore his form.
