Sesko injury prompts Manchester United to reassess January plans
Manchester United are set to reconsider their plans for the winter transfer market after striker Benjamin Sesko suffered a setback in his recovery from a shin injury, amid fears he could be sidelined for up to four months, according to The Sun.
Benjamin Sesko has been suffering from injury for several months and has not participated since mid-September, having only appeared as a substitute in four Premier League matches this season since joining Manchester United from RB Leipzig for around £74 million in the summer of 2025.
The report indicated that Manchester United are studying the possibility of signing a new striker in January to compensate for a potential absence, although strengthening the defence was the club's priority before this setback. Jean-Philippe Mateta, the Crystal Palace striker, remains among the names the club is interested in acquiring.
Michael Carrick has confirmed that he hopes to have clarity on Benjamin Sesko's condition by the end of the week, as no official update has been released regarding the duration of his absence.
