Liverpool set sights on strengthening attack and defense
Liverpool are targeting a move for Joshua King, the Fulham player, to bolster their attacking options and increase competition with Florian Wirtz, who has yet to justify his transfer fee of £116 million.
According to TEAMtalk, citing Football Insider, Liverpool have added King to their shortlist after he scored two goals and provided one assist in six matches this season. The report also noted interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Barcelona in the young player.
On the defensive front, Liverpool have inquired this summer about the possibility of signing Chelsea's young defender Josh Achiempong, who is attracting interest from other clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and AFC Bournemouth.
Chelsea are working to extend the contract of Achiampong, which expires in June 2029, until June 2032, with Xabi Alonso valuing his potential and importance for the future of the team.
