Liverpool eyeing Marc Bernal's signing in January

Liverpool are considering signing Marc Bernal, a midfielder from FC Barcelona, in the upcoming winter transfer window, taking advantage of the young player's reduced minutes, who may leave the Catalan club.

TEAMtalk has reported that FC Barcelona does not rule out selling Marc Bernal in January, after he has participated for only 319 minutes across all competitions this season. The 19-year-old's chances of playing may diminish as Frenkie de Jong approaches a return from injury.

Liverpool, led by Andoni Iraola, are looking to strengthen their midfield with a player capable of defensive duties and playmaking, especially as the team has sometimes suffered from defensive exposure when losing the ball. The club has also been interested in signing Lamine Camara from Monaco, but high financial demands have led their officials to consider alternative options.

Reports indicate that Bernal possesses qualities that suit Liverpool's needs, thanks to his ability to control the pace of the game, organize play from the back, and link the defense, midfield, and attack.

FC Barcelona's stance on parting with the player in January remains a crucial factor in the potential completion of the deal, while Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield options to align with Iraola's requirements.
