Liverpool have received new support for the idea of signing Erling Haaland, should Manchester City be forced to sell the Norwegian striker due to potential sanctions related to financial fair play rules. However, the player prefers a move to Spain.

Manchester City are facing a crisis due to a financial misconduct case, after the club was found guilty of inflating its financial resources by around £830 million between 2009 and 2018, while the club continues to assert its innocence and has filed an appeal.

John Aldridge, the former Liverpool star, sees Erling Haaland as the first player Liverpool should target if Manchester City have to sell, expressing his desire to see the Norwegian striker in his former team's shirt.

According to "TEAMtalk", there are opinions suggesting Erling Haaland could move to Arsenal, but sources from the site confirm that the 26-year-old striker prefers a transfer to Spain, with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid as potential destinations.

Erling Haaland signed a nine-year contract with Manchester City in 2025, but sources close to FC Barcelona and Real Madrid believe there are options in his contract that could allow him to leave.
