Mourinho stirs controversy over Güler's future with Real Madrid

José Mourinho, the manager of Real Madrid, has sparked controversy regarding Arda Güler's future with the team, after refusing to consider any player in his squad as untouchable.

This came during a conversation where Mourinho was asked in a recent interview whether the Turkish player was among those who are untouchable. He replied: "No, there is no player who is untouchable in the team," according to what was reported by TEAMtalk.

Güler has joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahçe in 2023, making 116 appearances for the team, during which he scored 19 goals and provided 26 assists. He also featured regularly under the management of Xabi Alonso during his time at the club.

Reports during the summer indicated Alonso's desire to reunite with Güler at Chelsea, but the English club decided to focus on signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117 million.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Güler has reached an agreement on a new six-year contract with Real Madrid, but the deal has not been officially announced yet.
