Brentford confirm stance on selling El Hadji Malick Diouf
Brentford have rejected the idea of selling their Senegalese defender El Hadji Malick Diouf during the upcoming winter transfer window, despite his name being linked with a move to Chelsea or Liverpool.
TEAMtalk has reported that the club does not intend to listen to offers for the 21-year-old player, as they consider him an important part of their future plans and wish for him to continue his development with the team.
El Hadji Malick Diouf has joined Brentford from West Ham last August for a fee of £40 million, signing a contract that runs until 2031, with an option to extend for an additional year.
Despite limited participation this season, Brentford prefer to integrate him gradually into the team. The source clarified that Chelsea and Liverpool's interest dates back to last summer, and they have no intention of moving to sign him in January.
Brentford are keen to retain the player, whom they see as a key element in their plans to compete for European qualification.
