Matvei Safonov, the Russian goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain, revealed details of the moment he faced Englishman Eberechi Eze during the penalty shootout in the UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal.

Safonov stated that he deliberately remained completely still and did not engage in any movement to force Izi to make the decision himself, explaining: "I remained completely still."

Ezi stepped up to take Arsenal's second penalty, but after some hesitant steps in his approach, he sent the ball wide of the goal, as Safonov chose not to move and waited for the shot.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw after regular and extra time, before Paris Saint-Germain secured the title with a 4-3 win on penalties, retaining their UEFA Champions League title.
