From Arsenal to Al-Hilal: Martinelli's unstoppable goal record

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Al-Hilal in the 21st minute, continuing his goal streak for the fourth consecutive match in the Saudi Pro League, before raising his tally to six goals since the start of the current season.

The atmosphere changed at the start of the second half as the Brazilian winger had to leave the pitch in the 49th minute due to a hamstring injury, prompting coach Simone Inzaghi to bring on Sultan Mandash in his place to maintain the team's balance.

The injury sustained against Al-Qadisiyah is the first for Martinelli since his transfer to Al-Hilal from Arsenal during the last summer transfer window, with Al-Hilal fans eagerly awaiting to see how the injury will affect his performance.

Before arriving in the Saudi Pro League, the player suffered ten injuries during his time with Arsenal, starting in the 2019-2020 season, making his latest injury against Al-Qadisiyah the eleventh in his professional career according to his medical record.

The 2019-2020 season saw the longest absence for Gabriel Martinelli due to injuries, as he suffered three injuries that kept him off the pitch for a total of 202 days. In contrast, the 2023-2024 season has seen him sidelined for 46 days due to two injuries.

In the rest of the recorded seasons within his medical history, injuries have been limited to one case each season, leaving all eyes focused on the medical tests that will determine the details of his new injury with Al-Hilal.

Al-Hilal secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al-Qadisiyah on Friday evening in the 11th round of the Saudi Pro League, but Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli's injury cast a shadow over the team's triumph in Dammam.
