Konsa: I have been waiting for this for a long time, and we want to keep winning
Ezri Konsa, Arsenal's defender, expressed his great happiness at scoring his first goal in the team's shirt during the 2-0 win over Everton in the eighth round of the Premier League, confirming that keeping a clean sheet made the day special for him.
Konsa said in statements to "PLP": "It's a great feeling, as always. We kept a clean sheet, and I scored a goal, which is my first with the club, so it was a great day overall."
He added about his goal: "I had been waiting to score my first goal for a long time. I spoke with the set-piece coach before the match, and he told me he was waiting for my goal too, so it was fitting that I scored today."
Speaking about Arsenal scoring from a set piece, Gabriel said: "Yes, definitely, especially after the Bayern Munich match, where we created some chances from set pieces. We felt as players that a goal was coming, and today was the right time."
Ezri Konsa spoke about Gabriel Magalhães scoring in his 200th Premier League match, saying: "I am so happy for him, he is a top-class player and a great person as well. I am really happy for him, he has made my life easy since I joined the club, and it has been a pleasure to play alongside him."
He concluded his remarks about Arsenal's good results at the Emirates Stadium, saying: "I have come to this stadium for many years, and I know how difficult it is to play against us here, so I am not surprised by what is happening. We are champions, and to be a champion you have to win matches consistently. This is our stadium, and we want to achieve as many victories as possible here."
