Sarr needs time to overcome disappointment of failed Liverpool transfer

Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage has revealed that Senegalese winger Ismaïla Sarr needs some time to come to terms with the disappointment of his failed move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

Ismaïla Sarr was close to joining Liverpool, who made an official offer for him, but Crystal Palace held firm on their financial demands and rejected his departure, keeping the player at the club.

Saj stated: "I spoke with him yesterday, and he confirmed to me that he will be with us. He needs to understand what happened, because playing for a club like Liverpool is a dream for many players. He had a good opportunity, but it didn't materialize."

Crystal Palace manager added that Ismaïla Sarr needs to recover mentally and physically before returning to the pitch, noting that the player is also suffering from an injury.

Ismaïla Sarr scored 21 goals during 45 matches last season, making him a target for Liverpool, who were looking for options to compensate for the departure of Mohamed Salah.
