Ronald Araújo, the defender of FC Barcelona on loan to Liverpool, has regained his happiness on and off the pitch after his transfer to the English team marked a positive turning point in his career, following a difficult period during which he suffered from psychological issues.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo went through a difficult phase that began after his red card against Chelsea about a year ago, before he was granted an open-ended leave to recover. Araújo later revealed that he suffered from anxiety for a year and a half, until his condition developed into depression.

The former FC Barcelona captain has returned to the team after two months and concluded the season by winning the La Liga title, but he asked Deco to allow him to leave. Despite the club's attempts to sell him, no deal was completed, and he ultimately moved to Liverpool on loan.

At Anfield, Araujo has become a key player who is appreciated by the fans, having scored a crucial goal against Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League. He has played as a right-back in 7 matches, compared to 4 matches in central defense, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist in three matches in the continental competition.

Araujo stated in remarks to Cadena SER: "Certainly, I needed this change, I believe I find here what I needed, which is to play and feel my importance and show the football that I present."

He added: "I simply try to enjoy every day," confirming: "I am happy, and my family is very happy too, and that is very important."

With the Uruguayan defender's impressive performances and the coaching staff, led by Andoni Iraola, satisfied with his display, 'Mundo Deportivo' reports that Liverpool may be inclined to pay €55 million to secure his permanent transfer. The report also indicates that FC Barcelona, under the leadership of Juan Laporta, needs to finalize a sale of this magnitude to bolster its financial position, preferring to complete the deal in January rather than waiting until July.
