Manchester United Signs Andre Santos Until 2031
Manchester United has officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andre Santos after completing the registration process. The 22-year-old Brazilian international has signed a contract that runs until June 2031, with an option for an additional season.
Santos previously captained Brazil's U23 team and won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.
Last season, Santos played 43 matches for Chelsea, achieving the highest passing accuracy and the most progressive passes per 90 minutes among midfielders under 22 in the Premier League.
Prior to that, he was on loan at Strasbourg, where he captained several matches, scored 11 goals, and provided 5 assists.
After signing the contract, Santos said: "Everything about Manchester United is special; it feels incredible to join such a club. I am excited to work with Michael Carrick as he is the perfect coach to help me take the next step in my career."
He added: "Everyone has told me about the club's ambition and the fantastic environment here. I know how strong the team is, and I can't wait to fight alongside my teammates for the biggest trophies."
Sporting director Jason Wilcox confirmed that Santos was one of the club's main targets in midfield, noting his exceptional technical abilities and impact on both defensive and attacking play, as well as his significant potential for future development.
With the addition of Andre Santos, Manchester United continues to strengthen its squad in preparation for the new season under Michael Carrick.
