Barcelona and Arsenal Lead Clubs in World Cup Quarter-Finals Representation
Barcelona and Arsenal are leading the way as the clubs with the most representation in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, hosted in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, with both clubs ensuring that 10 players continue in the tournament, according to "Mundo Deportivo".
Ten players from Barcelona are still in contention for the title, including Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, Gavi, Eric Garcia, and Juan Garcia with the Spain national team, alongside Jules Koundé with France and Anthony Gordon with England.
The report also noted that the final match could see nine players from the Catalan club participating if Spain and England reach the final.
Out of the 15 players who started the tournament with Barcelona, only five have been eliminated, namely De Jong with the Netherlands, Raphinha with Brazil, Ronald Araújo with Uruguay, João Cancelo with Portugal, and Hamza Abdel Karim with Egypt.
The same source clarified that Barcelona had 16 players at the start of the tournament, but Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United on July 1 after his loan ended on June 30, without the Catalan club activating the option to buy his contract for €30 million.
Arsenal matches Barcelona in the number of players qualifying for the quarter-finals, featuring William Saliba with France, David Raya, Mikel Merino, and Martin Zubimendi with Spain, Leandro Trossard with Belgium, Martin Ødegaard with Norway, along with Eze, Declan Rice, Saka, and Noni Madueke with England.
Manchester City and Atlético Madrid follow closely with eight players each in the quarter-finals, while Paris Saint-Germain has seven players still competing in the tournament.
