Genoa Targets Aubameyang Signing
Genoa has begun steps to explore the possibility of signing Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the summer transfer window, a move that could provide the Italian side with significant attacking experience ahead of the new season.
Transfer expert Matteo Moretto confirmed that Genoa has contacted Marseille to inquire about Aubameyang's situation and the possibility of acquiring him, after the French club informed the player that he needs to find a new team, despite his contract running until June 2027.
The Gabonese forward continues to perform well, having scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists in 41 official matches with Marseille last season, after joining the club on a free transfer following his stint with Al-Qadisiyah.
Aubameyang has previously represented clubs such as Chelsea, Barcelona, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Saint-Étienne, and he graduated from AC Milan's youth academy, but he has never played in Serie A.
The source also indicated that Genoa's move has so far been limited to inquiries about the feasibility of completing the deal, with negotiations not yet advancing to a more developed stage, while the club continues to rebuild the team under coach Daniele De Rossi.
