Daniele De Rossi, the head coach of Genoa, has praised the start that Brazilian forward Robinho Junior has made with the team after he played his first match in the club's colors during the 2-0 defeat against AS Roma on Saturday, October 17, in Serie A.

Robinho, the former Junior FC player, came on as a substitute in the second half for his compatriot Junior Messias and left a positive impression on his coach, who praised his performance despite needing to develop his physical abilities.

De Rossi said at the press conference after the match: "He left an excellent impression on me. I didn't know him, and this signing was more aimed at the future, but he is a very interesting player. He provides useful and smart things, and he needs to gain physical strength, but he knows how to position himself and move on the pitch. Sometimes we focus too much on the physical side and forget the other aspects."

Genoa have announced the signing of Robinho Junior on loan from Santos until June 2027. The player began his career with the under-20 team, scoring three goals, before his good performances prompted Di Rossi to give him a chance to appear with the first team.

Genoa have the option to buy the player for €8 million, which is approximately 48 million Brazilian reais, after the loan period, if the young striker manages to convince the club's officials of his level.
