De Rossi: AS Roma are an incredibly strong team and we may resort to some changes
Daniele De Rossi, the manager of Genoa, confirmed the difficulty of the upcoming match against AS Roma, pointing out that the capital team possesses great potential, despite the physical and mental effort they exerted during their last match against Real Madrid. The Genoa coach emphasized the need to focus on his team's preparations and not to rely on any fatigue that the opponent may suffer from.
Daniele De Rossi said at the press conference: "It is natural for morale to be lower than it was yesterday, especially after what happened in the 82nd minute against Real Madrid, but the AS Roma players know very well how to get back up and regain their energy. It is a team with many goals, and it has incredible strength, as it showed again its capabilities in yesterday's match."
Genoa's coach discussed the physical condition of his players, noting that Amorim participated in training for the first time, but with relatively low loads. His final status will be determined after assessing his condition.
It was also noted that the conditions of Havel, Mishtari, and Colombo continue to improve, confirming that the team will not recover any other players before facing AS Roma, except for Amorim, with hopes of Mishtari returning for the next match against Venezia.
De Rossi praised Traoré's potential, highlighting his ability to improve the performance of those around him, and noted that he continues to develop remarkably, even though the coaching staff did not expect him to be able to play 90 minutes at such a pace.
The importance of set pieces has been emphasized, as they represent a significant opportunity to score, especially since Genoa previously benefited from them during tough periods last season.
Genoa's coach concluded his statements by confirming that the match against AS Roma requires complete physical and mental readiness, given the significant effort the opponent has put in recently, noting the possibility of making some changes to the lineup.
The coach stated that his team will not only rely on the opponent's style of play, but will also work to exploit their strengths and confront their characteristics in line with Genoa's capabilities.
