Monaco Agrees to Sign Ansu Fati Under Specific Conditions
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" revealed that AS Monaco has expressed its approval for the continued presence of forward Ansu Fati in its ranks, following the performances he delivered this season. However, this is contingent upon several conditions related to financial aspects.
According to the report, Fati succeeded in convincing the French club's management after participating in 25 matches and scoring 9 goals, in addition to his role in enhancing the team's chances of participating in European competitions, prompting Monaco to consider activating the purchase option.
The report clarified that the loan agreement between Barcelona and Monaco includes a purchase clause valued at around 11 million euros, which is an amount within reach for the French club. However, the player's salary represents the biggest challenge to completing the deal.
He pointed out that Fati had renewed his contract with Barcelona until June 2028 before his departure, with part of his financial entitlements deferred. Meanwhile, Monaco agreed to pay part of his salary this season, with Barcelona bearing the larger portion.
Negotiations are currently underway to significantly reduce the player's salary so that it aligns with the French club's economic capabilities and the nature of salaries in the local league.
The agreement between the two clubs also includes a buy-back clause in favor of Barcelona, exceeding 25 million euros, which gives the Spanish club the opportunity to reclaim the player in the future.
