Barcelona Refuses to Engage in Bidding Wars for Alvarez

Barcelona has confirmed that it will not engage in any financial bidding wars to sign Argentine forward Julian Alvarez, despite talks of Real Madrid potentially making an offer of up to 150 million euros for the player.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca," the major offer mentioned by Florentino Perez during his election campaign may be directed towards Atletico Madrid to sign Alvarez, who is a mutual target for both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The newspaper indicated that Atletico Madrid is aware of Barcelona's interest in the player, as the Catalan club prepares to make an offer of 100 million euros. However, Atletico's management considers it insufficient so far.

Nevertheless, Barcelona remains firm in its stance and refuses to increase its offer or engage in a competition that could reach 150 million euros, affirming its commitment to its financial policy in this deal.

The report also clarified that Alvarez rejected the renewal offer from Atletico Madrid, as he wishes to change his destination in the upcoming period.

Barcelona is awaiting the player's final decision, with a clearer picture expected to emerge after his participation with the Argentina national team in the World Cup, amid expectations that the decision about his future will be postponed until after the tournament.
