Barcelona's Stance on Signing Bernardo Silva
The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed that FC Barcelona does not include the Portuguese star Bernardo Silva in its plans for the upcoming transfer market, despite his name being linked with the Catalan club in recent years.
According to the newspaper, a source inside Barcelona confirmed that the idea of signing the Manchester City player is no longer being considered in the offices of the Catalan club, saying: 'The Barcelona train has missed Bernardo Silva.'
It is expected that Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of the current season, after his contract ends, thus closing a long chapter of his career with the English club, which he joined in the summer of 2017 from Monaco for about 50 million euros.
During that period, Silva was one of the team's key pillars, playing 449 matches in which he scored 76 goals and provided 77 assists.
The Portuguese star contributed to achieving numerous titles, most notably the English Premier League 6 times, the UEFA Champions League once, in addition to the Club World Cup, the League Cup 5 times, the FA Cup twice, and the Community Shield 3 times.
