The Truth About Rene Weiler's Return to Coach Al-Ahly
Sunday 29-03-2026
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir denied that Rene Weiler, the former Al Ahly coach, is close to returning to manage the red team.

In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "I had a call with a board member of the club yesterday, and I asked him what they were thinking about. He said they were thinking about the league. What about Yassin Mansour and Sayed Abdelhafiz? He said we have confidence in them, and even if El-Khatib prefers to stay away, he will still be in the picture."

He continued: "Kamois actually received an offer from his club, but Torop insisted on continuing for a completely different reason. Walid Salah El-Din and Torop gained full confidence, and Sayed Abdel Hafiz will be present with the team continuously."

He continued: "I know someone who once went to marry another woman, but ended up marrying the same wife again, and this is because of the talk about Mosimane and Weiler. The celebration ended a long time ago. Al Ahly now has Toure and the man is continuing. Someone mentioned Weiler's name and people went along with it, but that's it. Weiler is the one who left Al Ahly, and the club offered him everything. There's no Koller, Mosimane, or Weiler anymore."

He concluded: "If Al Ahly thinks about it, they will only consider renewal, not going back. Currently, there are meetings to organize things internally."
