The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed that the young forward Lamine Yamal did not participate in Barcelona's training on Thursday, after a day of rest granted by coach Hans Flick to the team following the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 match against Newcastle United at St. James' Park.

The newspaper clarified that Yamal's absence was due to him feeling generally unwell, but Barcelona's management confirmed that they expect him to return to training on Friday as usual. Therefore, his participation in the upcoming match against Sevilla, scheduled for Sunday at 5:15 PM Cairo time at Spotify Camp Nou, is still entirely possible.

Lamine Yamal scored the team's only goal in the first leg against Newcastle in the Champions League, converting a penalty in the final moments, giving the Catalan team a psychological advantage before the return match at home.

The newspaper confirmed that Yamal has become a key player in coach Flick's plan, ranking second among the team's players in terms of playing minutes this season after Eric Garcia, with a total of 3,102 minutes played. Yamal also tops the list of the most impactful players in front of the goal, having scored 20 goals (14 in La Liga, 4 in the Champions League, and 2 in the Cup) and provided 15 assists (10 in the league, 3 in the Champions League, and 2 in the Cup).
