The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the medical examinations undergone by Barcelona player Eric Garcia, aged 25, showed no serious injury. The club discovered that the player only suffers from slight muscle fatigue in the back of the thigh, which might allow him to participate in the upcoming match against Sevilla, depending on how he feels in the coming days.

Garcia attended the team's training at St. James' Park before the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match against Newcastle, but he did not participate in the game due to concerns about his physical condition. According to the newspaper, Hans Flick, the team's head coach, said, "We don't want to risk him because he is very important to us."

After returning to Barcelona, Garcia underwent medical examinations which confirmed the absence of any injury, although he was diagnosed with a slight strain in the hamstring tendons. Flick gave the team a day off, with players set to return to training tomorrow in preparation for the match against Sevilla on Sunday. Garcia is expected to participate, even if only for limited minutes, depending on how he feels physically in the coming days.

It is noted that Garcia's absence from the Newcastle match prompted Flick to play Ronald Araujo in the right-back position, with Cancelo remaining on the left side. The central defense duo consisted of Pau Cubarsi and Gerard Martin.
