Luis Diaz Paves the Way for Liverpool to Secure a Major Deal
Sunday 15-02-2026
Reports, most notably from the "TEAMtalk" website, mentioned that Colombian winger Luis Diaz could be the key to the transfer of Ivorian winger Yvan Diomande from RB Leipzig to Liverpool next summer, in a deal that could be worth up to 100 million euros.

Diaz left Liverpool last summer for Bayern Munich in a deal worth 75 million euros, which helped fund a record deal for the English club with striker Alexander Isak. Diaz has excelled in Germany, scoring 19 goals and providing 15 assists in 32 matches, forming a strong attacking partnership with Harry Kane and Michael Olise.

The German journalist Christian Falk pointed out that several major clubs, including Manchester City and Manchester United, are interested in signing Diomande. However, Liverpool seems to be in a favorable position and could finalize the deal before its competitors, especially since Bayern Munich is not willing to pay a large sum for an alternative plan behind Diaz.

Dion Dembélé, 19 years old, has the ability to play on either wing and could replace Cody Gakpo in the starting lineup or serve as a long-term substitute for Mohamed Salah.

The press reports confirmed that Liverpool might expedite the completion of the deal to avoid competition from other clubs, with expectations that the English club will finalize the deal before the end of the season. This is aided by the player's desire to play for them and his eagerness to join Anfield.
