Barcelona's Struggles in the Absence of Raphinha
Friday 13-02-2026
Under the leadership of coach Hans Flick, Barcelona recorded its sixth loss of the season across all competitions after a heavy defeat against Atletico Madrid with a score of 4-0 in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. The match saw the opposing team dominate in the first half and witnessed refereeing controversy in the second half.

The common factor between this loss and the previous five was the absence of the Brazilian player Raphinha due to injury. He was unable to participate against Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the Champions League, or against Sevilla 4-1, Real Madrid 2-1, and Real Sociedad 2-1 in La Liga.

Raphinha also played for only a few minutes against Chelsea in London during the UEFA Champions League when the score was 3-0 in favor of the English team.

During the current season, Raphinha participated in 22 matches, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists. However, he also missed the Champions League matches against Olympiacos 6-1 and Brugge 3-3, as well as the Spanish league matches against Real Sociedad 2-1, Girona 2-1, Elche 3-1, Celta Vigo 4-2, and Mallorca 3-0, all of which ended in victories for Barcelona.
