Belmadi Feels Sad Due to Torop's Stance at Al-Ahly
Monday 09-02-2026
The Moroccan Youssef Belamri, the newly joined left-back for Egypt's Al Ahly, expressed his sadness and surprise at the stance of Danish coach Jess Thorup towards him, after the latter excluded him from the main lineup of the Red team.

Torop currently relies on Ahmed Nabil Kouka in the left-back position, with the integration of Belamri in matches being postponed due to his lack of technical readiness according to the coach's perspective.

Tourop had urged Al-Ahly's management to sign Belamri during the winter transfer window, especially after the match against Tala'ea El Gaish in the Egypt Capital Cup, as he saw the player as an important addition to strengthen the team's defense.

However, the coach believes that Belamri needs to improve his defensive performance before he can participate regularly, which explains his temporary exclusion.

A source from within the club told "On Sport FM" radio that Torop is trying to gradually integrate Belamri with the team members and is training him on defensive aspects that he believes have not been sufficiently developed, to ensure his technical readiness in the near future.

Belamri expresses his feelings of surprise and sadness, especially since he was expecting to quickly participate with Al-Ahli after joining during the winter transfer window, following the purchase of the remainder of his contract with Raja Casablanca.

It is noted that the player is under a valid contract with the Red Castle until June 2029, which ensures a long future with the team.

Belamri's task now is to prove himself to Torop and convince him of his ability to play effectively as a left-back, in order to secure a permanent spot in Al-Ahly's lineup for the upcoming matches.
