Officially.. Clubs Qualified for the Europa League Playoffs and Draw Date

The curtain fell on Thursday evening on the first round matches of the Europa League competition for the current 2025-2026 season with the conclusion of the eighth and final round of the league stage.

Eight clubs qualified directly to the Europa League round of 16, while 16 clubs will play in the playoffs qualifying for the round of 16 of the tournament, according to the new system of the competition.

The list of teams that secured their spots in the playoffs qualifying for the round of 16 includes: Genk (Belgium), Bologna (Italy), Stuttgart (Germany), Ferencvaros (Hungary), Nottingham (England), Viktoria Plzen (Czech Republic), Red Star (Serbia), Celta Vigo (Spain), PAOK (Greece), Lille (France), Fenerbahce (Turkey), Panathinaikos (Greece), Celtic (Scotland), Ludogorets (Bulgaria), Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia), and Brann (Norway).

The draw for the playoffs qualifying for the round of 16 will be held today, Friday, January 30, 2026, with the first leg matches scheduled for February 19 and the return leg on the 26th of the same month.

The draw for the round of 16 of the tournament is scheduled for February 27, 2026.

It is noted that the eight clubs that qualified directly to the round of 16 are: Lyon, Aston Villa, Midtjylland, Betis, Porto, Sporting Braga, Freiburg, Roma.
