The Truth About Egypt's National Team Participation in the 2026 Gulf Cup
Sports journalist Gamal El-Ghandour revealed on the program "Stad Al-Mahwar" the truth about whether the Egyptian Football Association received an invitation to participate in the 2026 Gulf Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ghandour denied that the Football Association received any invitation to participate in the tournament.
He added: "If an official invitation is received, it will be discussed with Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, but only after the Africa Cup of Nations concludes."
He continued: "The current goal of the Football Association is to support the technical staff and players in order to win the Africa Cup of Nations. After that, we will announce the arrangements for the next phase leading up to the 2026 World Cup."
The Gulf Cup tournament will be held from September 23 to October 6, 2026, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
