Hossam Hassan signs contract extension until 2030

The Egyptian Football Association has announced the renewal of Hossam Hassan's contract as head coach of the Egypt national team for the next four years, extending his tenure until 2030.

Contracts were signed during a session attended by Hani Abou Rida, the President of the Egyptian Football Association, Khaled El-Darendly, the Vice President of the Association, and Mostafa Azam, the Secretary General of the Association, alongside Hossam Hassan, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and Walid Badr, the team administrator.

The renewal of the contract comes as part of the Egyptian Football Association's commitment to ensuring stability for the coaching staff of the Egypt national team and to continue working during the upcoming phase, in line with the goals and plans set for the national team.

Hossam Hassan has led the Egypt national team since taking over in February 2024, overseeing 35 matches across various competitions, winning 20, drawing 9, and losing 6.

Hossam Hassan has successfully led the Egypt national team to a historic achievement by qualifying for the Round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 for the first time in the Pharaohs' history. This comes just a few months after reaching the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 before bowing out of the tournament against Senegal.
