Hossam Hassan includes Mohamed Shehata in squad for international break

Media personality Khaled El Ghandour stated that Egypt's coaching staff has settled on including Mohamed Shehata, the Zamalek player, in the Pharaohs' squad in preparation for the matches against Angola and South Sudan on September 25 and 29 in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.

Hossam Hassan is finalising his midfield options to compensate for Marwan Ateya's absence due to suspension for two matches since the events of the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations. He also missed the match against Nigeria in the third-place play-off, but will return for the match against South Sudan.

Egypt will meet Angola on Friday, September 25, in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Following that, the Pharaohs will face South Sudan on Tuesday, September 29, in the second round.
