Manchester United continues to pursue several important targets in the transfer market. Sky Sports has revealed the club's interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, as well as their monitoring of Rennes' young defender Jérémy Gakpé.

According to the same source, United's interest in Mateta is long-standing. Although the club does not prioritize signing a new striker in the current transfer window, the player could become a strong option if available, especially as he enters the final year of his contract next summer, after Crystal Palace rejected previous offers of up to £50 million.

In the same context, Sky Sports reported that Manchester United is among several clubs monitoring the situation of the 20-year-old French defender Jérémy Doku, despite the difficulty of completing the deal in January, especially after he extended his contract with Rennes until 2029.

On another note, the report clarified that Manchester United's management is considering selling the young winger Sam Mather to the Turkish club Kayserispor, after the latter submitted an official offer to sign him during the winter transfer window, as the player seeks to embark on a new experience following previous loan spells to gain experience.
