Barcelona Expects 360 Million Euros from Spotify Camp Nou
The Spanish newspaper 'Sport' confirmed that FC Barcelona places Spotify Camp Nou at the heart of its plans to recover the club financially, with expectations to generate revenues reaching 360 million euros annually when the stadium operates at full capacity.
The newspaper mentioned that the club is awaiting the issuance of the third municipal permit to open the Gol Nord stand and the cheering area, which will allow accommodating 62,000 spectators. This is expected to be achieved in the first home match of 2026 against Oviedo on January 24 or 25, according to CEO Manel del Río, who explained that this will allow a larger number of members to enjoy the stadium and fully experience Spotify Camp Nou.
The newspaper pointed out that renovation works continue according to a medium-term plan, with the expectation to complete the full renovation including the roof by the end of 2027. However, economic benefits will start before that, as next season the third stand and VIP areas can be operated, raising the capacity to 105,000 seats even before the roof installation.
Del Río highlighted that the new stadium is the key to boosting revenues and reducing the club's debt, which currently stands at around 1.4 billion euros, affirming that the financial situation is sustainable and that the club controls the debt despite its large size.
The CEO concluded his talk with an optimistic message about the club's future, saying: "The path is very positive, Barcelona's path is sweet and strong," while confirming that football always remains the club's focus and core business.
