Barcelona Changes Priorities in Transfer Market and Begins Activating Alternative Plan

Barcelona continues to rearrange its priorities in the summer transfer market, amid the stumbling of several files that were relied upon to strengthen the team's ranks during the current period.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that Barcelona's management had previously placed several names at the top of its summer targets, including Alessandro Bastoni and Marcus Rashford, in addition to monitoring the situation of Joao Cancelo and considering the option of his continuation, alongside interest in Julian Alvarez.

The newspaper clarified that the option to sign Marcus Rashford is no longer on the table after turning towards other options within the team, especially with the changes that have occurred in the lineup, making his potential role unnecessary at the moment. The player was also informed not to continue, prompting him to remove Barcelona's name from his social media accounts.

Regarding Joao Cancelo, the same source indicated that the file of his continuation remains complicated and has not been resolved yet, with doubts about the possibility of completing the deal permanently, given the need for flexibility from all parties.

As for the Alessandro Bastoni file, it has clearly declined, as Barcelona does not wish to meet the high financial demands requested by Inter Milan, reducing the chances of completing the deal.

The newspaper also added that the Catalan club is considering extending the contract of defender Andreas Christensen, despite not being classified among the top defenders globally, but he enjoys the technical staff's confidence in terms of stability and performance.

While Barcelona prepares to benefit from the 1:1 rule specific to the transfer market, financial constraints continue to affect its plans, prompting it to rely more on La Masia academy players, which the club sees as the primary solution to support the team in the upcoming phase.
