Barcelona Continues to Monitor Alex Remiro

The sporting director of Barcelona, Deco, continues to explore the option of signing a new goalkeeper in the upcoming period as part of a plan to strengthen the team's goalkeeping position.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that the coaching staff, led by Hans Flick, sees the necessity of signing a strong replacement for the main goalkeeper Juan Garcia, given the pressure of matches during the season.

The newspaper added that Alex Remiro, the goalkeeper for Real Sociedad, remains on Barcelona's list of interests, as a meeting had previously been held between Deco and the player's agents to discuss the possibility of his transfer.

The same source indicated that the negotiations remain contingent on resolving the situation of the current goalkeepers, primarily Marc-André ter Stegen, whose contractual and financial status poses an obstacle to any new deals. Meanwhile, Wojciech Szczęsny's situation is easier due to a clause that allows for the termination of his contract.

The newspaper clarified that Remiro is considering his future between staying with Real Sociedad or moving to Barcelona, amid interest from other clubs. Meanwhile, Barcelona's offer remains on the table at approximately 8 million euros, with no final decision made yet.
