Judicial Investigation into Laporta and Former Officials on Fraud Charges
Monday 29-12-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed that Investigative Court No. 22 in Barcelona has decided to summon FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, along with vice president Rafa Yuste, former financial officer and board member Xavier Sala i Martín, and former TV3 channel director Joan Oliver, to appear as defendants on January 16, in connection with an alleged fraud case estimated at around 100,000 euros.

According to the newspaper, the case involves investments made through two companies linked to the accused, namely "Core Store" based in Barcelona, and "CSSB Limited" registered in Hong Kong. An investor was promised an annual return of 6%, but only recovered 12,500 euros from the total amount invested.

The newspaper pointed out that the Barcelona court had ordered in November to accept the complaint filed by the affected party and to open an official investigation into suspected fraud, considering that the facts, if proven, could constitute aggravated fraud.

According to the report, this is the third case in which Joan Laporta is being investigated over suspicions of fraud related to the two aforementioned companies, for which Joan Oliver served as legal representative. Complaints indicate that several investors did not receive the promised returns and their funds were not returned.

The newspaper added that the affected party decided to resort to the judiciary and later contacted a lawyer representing other victims, resulting in the initiation of this new legal procedure.

The report confirmed that the judge also decided to summon representatives of the companies "Core Store" and "CSSB Limited" to appear before the court on the same date, pending the outcome of the investigations in the coming period.
