Date for Araújo's Return to Barcelona Training
Thursday 18-12-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo has set a date to return to group training after the winter break, following a period away from matches to regain his mental and physical fitness.

Araujo has been absent from matches since the UEFA Champions League game against Chelsea, where he was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the first half. He took some time away from the spotlight to focus on restoring his morale. During this period, he continued individual training in the gym and also went on a spiritual retreat, while keeping the details of his return confidential.

Araujo's plan aims to gradually restore his match readiness, including the derby against Espanyol on January 3, as well as preparing for the team's participation in the Super Cup competitions. His return is considered an important boost for the team during the crucial stage of the season, especially after the team benefited from the emergence of young Gerard Martin as a left-back during Araujo's absence.

The report indicates that Araújo is still focused on returning to his optimal competitive level, while maintaining his commitment to the team, with a contract extending until June 2031. He is considered one of the most beloved figures both on and off the pitch.
