Rafinha’s Wife Criticizes His Exclusion from FIFA’s Best XI
Taya Belloli, wife of Barcelona player Rafinha, expressed her displeasure over her husband's exclusion from the FIFA Best XI of the year, despite the outstanding season he delivered, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport".
The newspaper explained that Rafinha was not included in FIFA’s list of the best 11 players, despite his decisive contributions to Barcelona’s victories in La Liga and the Copa del Rey, as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League semifinals. The player had previously stated that he did not want to engage in controversy, affirming he would continue to give his best regardless of the voting.
His wife posted several messages on her Instagram account, considering the exclusion an insult, and sarcastically commented on the lineup, saying: "Is Rafinha a basketball player?" She also shared a statistic from last season in which he scored 62 goals, with a sarcastic remark: "But he didn’t deserve to be among the 11."
The "Sport" newspaper pointed out that this is not the first dissatisfaction from the player’s circle regarding such decisions. Rafinha himself had previously expressed his displeasure during the Ballon d’Or ceremony after being excluded. Thousands of followers also joined in protesting the choice of the Best XI on social media, considering that his exceptional performance was not given the proper recognition.
