Lewandowski Approaches Entry into Barcelona's Historic Top Ten Scorers
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is close to achieving a new historic milestone with Barcelona, as he is now just 12 goals away from entering the list of the club's top ten all-time scorers, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
Lewandowski reached 108 goals for Barcelona after scoring a hat-trick in the latest league round during the win at the Estadi de Balaídos. This achievement allowed him to equal Luis Enrique's record, while currently only Stanisław Basora (110), Hristo Stoichkov (117), and Josep Escolà (120) have surpassed him. The latter figure will place him directly into the top ten list.
If he reaches 120 goals, Lewandowski will come close to the duo Carles Rexach and Patrick Kluivert, who each have 122 goals. Following them on the list are names like Mariano Martín with 129, Rivaldo and Samuel Eto'o, who each scored 130 goals. However, the top of the list remains out of reach, featuring László Kubala with 193, Luis Suárez with 195, César Rodríguez with 226, and Lionel Messi with 672.
According to the newspaper, Lewandowski has an impressive scoring record, netting a goal every 113 minutes with Barcelona. Among the top 100 goal scorers in the club's history, only Messi, Mariano Martín, and Josep Samitier have a better rate. He previously scored a goal every 139 minutes with Borussia Dortmund and every 92 minutes with Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski continues at this pace to strengthen his position among the top scorers who have worn the Barcelona jersey, soon becoming close to entering the club's list of legendary goal scorers.
