Barcelona's Special Plan to Protect Lamine Yamal
Thursday 20-11-2025
FC Barcelona has developed a precise treatment plan to prepare their player, Lamine Yamal, who had to stop playing in recent days due to a troublesome groin injury, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The newspaper explained that the 18-year-old player missed the last two matches for the Spanish national team after undergoing radiofrequency treatment on November 10, followed by complete rest for 48 to 72 hours.

Last Thursday, Yamal began a training program supervised by two rehabilitation specialists at the club, aiming to allow him to return to competition within 7 to 10 days. The player has already participated in part of Wednesday's training under the guidance of Hans Flick at the Joan Gamper Sports City, a step that confirms his progress in recovery.

The newspaper believes that the club does not rule out a partial appearance by the player against Athletic Bilbao this Saturday, as a test before his bigger goal: reaching the match against Chelsea in the best possible condition. The newspaper also noted that the player is eager to return to Spotify Camp Nou, but the priority is a full recovery without rushing. His condition is being monitored by Belgian doctor Ernest Schilders in coordination with the club’s doctor, Ricard Bruna.

The newspaper added that Yamal was experiencing severe pain that caused him concern, but surgery was never considered as an option. The player and his team preferred to seek external opinions, which the club facilitated by bringing in the Belgian doctor overseeing his case.

The newspaper confirmed that Lamin Yamal arrived at the Spanish national team camp already aware that he would not participate, as the club had informed him about the nature of the treatment and the expected absence. It was explained that this type of injury requires careful attention to prevent it from persisting for several months, which the player understood well, focusing on strengthening the area and avoiding a relapse.

The player has decided, in agreement with his close circle, to reduce his media appearances during this period and to close some of his personal accounts in order to focus on recovery. The newspaper mentioned that he has set up a physical therapy area and hydrotherapy systems in his home, underscoring his commitment to the smallest details.

The report confirmed that Yamal had delivered an impressive performance before the pain returned, scoring against Elche and Celta Vigo, and both scoring and assisting against Club Brugge in the Champions League. However, the pain intensified after the match against Celta Vigo, prompting the club to implement the current plan.
