Shobeir's Comment on the Recent Attack on Torob
Monday 03-11-2025
Media personality Ahmed Shobeir commented on the attack that Yassir Torob, the head coach of Al Ahly, faced recently.

The match between Al Ahly and Al Masry Al Portsaidy ended in a goalless draw yesterday, Sunday, in the 13th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Shobeir said in radio statements: "Let me speak frankly, and I have said this many times and I will say it again, Al Ahly fans have rights over the club and should never abandon the team, but it is not normal for Koller to leave because he lost to Sundowns in the semi-finals. Amad Al-Nahhas came and won the league title, but people said they wanted a foreign coach."

He continued: "So, Al Ahly brought in the Spanish Ribeiro, and the man came, changed the playing style, drew in two matches, lost one, and advanced against Porto four times in the World Cup, and then lost to Pyramids in the league, and there was also a lot of shouting, and it was said that Ribeiro was not suitable, so he left, and Amad Al-Nahhas returned and was also rejected by the fans, and then Torob came, a very great coach in the world of football, and we cannot judge him now."

Shobeir added: "Every time someone complains a little and tells you to change someone, you will go and change. The management of Al Ahly has never worked like this. Who is playing from inside the club on this point? It is definitely known and is working for certain people, so the management of Al Ahly must stand and say no."

He added: "The Al Ahly board is only managed by its own board. The fans have rights, but not every word said means we should dismiss this coach and bring this player. Al Ahly has always accustomed us to stability, so stability must be present, and there is no problem in losing a championship or two. The idea of bringing players and a coach and responding to pressures in this way requires a pause."

Al Ahly currently occupies the second place in the league table with 23 points.
