A source within Al-Ahly club revealed to 'Al-Masry Al-Youm' newspaper the latest developments regarding the renewal of Ahmed Abdelkader's contract with Al-Ahly.
Zamalek is interested in signing the player whose contract with Al-Ahly ends at the end of the current season.
The source stated that the player is close to reaching a final agreement to extend his contract with the red club.
He added that the player initially wanted to receive 40 million pounds annually, while Al-Ahly offered him 20 million pounds, but Abdelkader has tentatively agreed to reduce his salary to 30 million.
The source confirmed that the agreement between the player and Al-Ahly will be finalized in the coming days.
