La Liga has announced the dates for the thirteenth round of the current season, during which Barcelona will host Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, November 22, at a venue yet to be determined.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the Catalan club is working to obtain the green light from the Barcelona municipality for phase 1B of the Spotify Camp Nou renovation project, which allows for the opening of the side stand to accommodate 45,401 fans in the stands, along with the operation of the main platform and the Gol Sud stand. Barcelona's management is awaiting the issuance of the initial occupancy permit from municipal technicians and firefighters after completing the required works and modifications.
If approval is not granted in time, the match between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc, ahead of the highly anticipated match against Chelsea on Tuesday, November 25, as part of the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League.
The newspaper clarified that the available alternatives for Barcelona's return to their historic stadium would be during the match against Deportivo Alavés on November 29 or 30, or in the encounter with Atlético Madrid on December 2 or 3.
As for the rest of the matches in the round, Real Madrid will visit Elche on Sunday, November 23.
