Yassir Turub, the new coach at Al Ahly, confirmed that he has great respect for the history of the Red Castle, pointing out that his goal in the upcoming phase is to achieve more championships for the team.

Al Ahly will face Burundi's Eagle Noir tomorrow, Saturday, in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League.

Turub said in the pre-match press conference: "First of all, I would like to thank the Burundian people for their warm hospitality, and I express my gratitude to this beautiful country. We have enough information about the Eagle Noir team; I have watched many of their matches and know their strengths and playing style well."

He added: "This is not my first time in Africa; I have had previous experiences with Augsburg in Germany and we played friendly matches against African teams, so I am fully aware of the nature of football on the continent. I also understand the value of this tournament for Al Ahly and its fans."

Regarding the atmosphere in Burundi, Turub said: "The weather is different from Egypt; it rained heavily yesterday, but that does not concern me much. My entire focus is on how to achieve victory because the result is the most important thing for us."

On the preparations for the match, he said: "We view tomorrow's match as the first half of two matches, so it is essential that we start the tournament with a strong victory that gives us an advantage in the return leg."

He concluded: "I know that Al Ahly has a great history of championships, but I came from Europe to create the future and achieve more accomplishments. I respect the past, but my entire focus now is on what is coming, and the stadium is excellent, but my only goal is victory."
